Google said it will mark the United States’ 250th anniversary in 2026 across its products and platforms, using its tools to bring history to life and encourage people to explore the ideas, places and people that connect the nation.

The company said it will use Google Search, Google Arts & Culture and other services to showcase American heritage and landmarks and to invite broader public engagement around the semiquincentennial.

As part of the rollout, Google Search will include a celebratory easter egg tied to anniversary-related queries, designed to help kick off the country’s 250th birthday, the company said.

Google Arts & Culture will partner with the National Trust for Historic Preservation to highlight the legacy of Route 66. The platform will also host material from Colonial Williamsburg focused on early American history, according to the statement.

Beyond cultural programming, Google said it will provide artificial intelligence tools and training aimed at supporting economic growth and helping fuel a new era of American innovation in the lead-up to the anniversary.

The United States will mark 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence on 4 July 2026, with national celebrations expected across education, culture and civic life.
