Google is announcing a new $4 billion investment in Arkansas through 2027. This investment includes Google’s first data centre in the state, located in West Memphis.
The investment will also support cloud and AI infrastructure, along with local programs aimed at increasing energy resilience and affordability for residents.
Google is launching a $25 million Energy Impact Fund to help scale energy efficiency and affordability initiatives in Crittenden County and the surrounding area.
Additionally, Google is collaborating with Entergy to introduce a new 600 MW solar project to the grid and implement programs to reduce power usage during peak hours.
“We’re boosting the state's talent pipeline by offering no-cost access to Google AI courses and Career Certificates for all residents,” said Ruth Porat, President & Chief Investment Officer of Alphabet and Google.
This effort will begin with students at the University of Arkansas and Arkansas State University, aiming to unlock substantial economic opportunity and ensure Arkansas plays a key role in advancing the U.S. as a leader in AI innovation.
Business and community leaders joined Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Ruth Porat, and Jim Anderson, Google’s Vice President of North America Partner Ecosystems, to discuss the new investment.
