The company said in a statement that while it regards Play’s existing developer practices as “fair, objective, and transparent,” it welcomes the opportunity to resolve the CMA’s concerns collaboratively.

According to the filing, the proposed voluntary commitments will provide continued transparency on app review, ranking and data usage policies and practices so developers understand the choices available to them on Google Play. The company said Google’s mobile ecosystem generates over £9.9 billion in revenue for developers and supports over 457,000 jobs, and it offers consumer choice.
The company said it will continue to engage constructively with the CMA on behalf of developers, device manufacturers, and Android users worldwide.
