Fitbit expands AI health coach preview to 37 countries with multilingual support and VO2 Max integration

Fitbit is rolling out its personal health coach feature to 37 countries across a public preview, adding support for 32 languages and integrating a new cardio performance metric as the Google-owned wearables company broadens access to its AI-driven wellness tool.

The expansion covers both free and Premium plan users on iOS and Android, with eligible users set to receive the update through their Fitbit app over the coming weeks.

The rollout extends to Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Taiwan.

New language support includes Brazilian Portuguese, Canadian French, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Estonian, Finnish, French, German, Hindi, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Latin American Spanish, Latvian, Lithuanian, Malay, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Swedish and Traditional Chinese.

The update also brings VO2 Max into the health coach for the first time, a measure of the maximum rate at which the body can consume oxygen during exercise and a widely used indicator of cardiovascular fitness, previously surfaced in the Fitbit app under the name Cardio Fitness Score.

Incorporating VO2 Max into the coaching experience allows the tool to give users personalised guidance informed by their aerobic capacity alongside the activity, sleep and heart rate data the coach already draws upon.

Fitbit directed users to its community page for full details on the public preview.

The recap

  • Fitbit expands personal health coach preview to 37 countries.
  • Preview adds support for 32 languages, including Hindi.
  • Eligible users will receive the update in coming weeks.
