Firmus Technologies raised $505 million in an investment round led by Coatue Management, the Australian data centre builder said in an announcement.
The company said the financing is part of a global push to fund artificial intelligence infrastructure. Nvidia Corp. also participated in the round, the announcement said.

The deal values the Australian startup at $5.5 billion, the company said. Coatue led the financing alongside other investors, according to the announcement, positioning Firmus Technologies to continue building facilities aimed at supporting AI workloads.
Nvidia, the maker of AI accelerator chips, joined the investor group backing the project, the company added. Firmus Technologies Pty did not disclose further operational timelines or detailed use of proceeds in the announcement.
