Fanatics and OBB Media have launched Fanatics Studios, a joint venture focused on producing premium sports-related content for a global audience.

The new studio will develop feature films, documentaries, scripted and unscripted originals, live event specials and premium digital series. Fanatics Studios will combine Fanatics’ commercial reach, athlete relationships and global platform with OBB Media’s production expertise and storytelling capabilities. The companies said the studio will serve as the exclusive entity for sports-related content across both organisations.

Fanatics Studios will launch with a slate spanning theatrical, television and digital projects. Among the first announcements is a strategic content partnership tied to the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games, including the official Olympic film, which is slated for theatrical release with a director to be named at a later date.

The studio will also produce the Fanatics Flag Football Classic, a three-team round-robin event featuring current and former professional players and elite athletes. The event will include Tom Brady, who will come out of retirement to make his flag football debut. The game will be broadcast live on Fox in March from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

A multi-part documentary series, One More Drive, produced with Shadow Lion, will follow Brady’s preparation for the Fanatics Flag Football Classic in 2026 and 2027, as well as a potential bid to represent Team USA when flag football debuts at LA28.

Fanatics Studios will also co-produce the 2026 ESPY Awards with ESPN and Full Day Productions. In addition, the studio has entered into an overall programming partnership with ESPN covering 2026 and 2027, including a renewal of Fanatics Fest All Access.

The studio has secured a multi-project partnership with WWE covering unscripted and digital content. Planned shows include What Do You Wanna Talk About? with Cody Rhodes, What’s Your Story? with Steph McMahon, Six Feet Under with The Undertaker and The Raw Recap Show hosted by Megan Morant and Sam Roberts. The companies noted that WWE’s YouTube channel has 112 million subscribers and has surpassed 100 billion lifetime views.

Fanatics Studios will also partner with Major League Baseball on original content, including a World Baseball Classic documentary series produced with Box To Box Films.

OBB Pictures will handle physical production across Fanatics Studios projects. Michael Ratner will serve as chief executive of Fanatics Studios while continuing to lead OBB Media’s other businesses. The venture formally combines OBB Sports’ forward-looking production business with Fanatics’ media partnerships, while legacy OBB Sports projects will remain separate.

Fanatics chief executive Michael Rubin said the studio adds an important content and media pillar to Fanatics’ expanding sports platform. Ratner said the launch reflects the growing convergence of sports and pop culture, positioning Fanatics Studios to build entertainment franchises at the intersection of both.

The Recap

  • Fanatics and OBB Media launch Fanatics Studios joint venture.
  • Studio will produce films, documentaries, scripted and unscripted originals.
