Facebook is overhauling key parts of the app. Feed, search, navigation, profiles and creation tools are all getting redesigned to cut clutter and make posts easier to find and share.

The Feed is getting a simpler, more immersive layout. Multi-photo posts will appear in a standard grid. Users can double-tap to like. Opening a post pulls it into full-screen. Core features such as Reels, Friends, Marketplace and Profile move to the front of the tab bar. Menu layouts and notification badges are getting a refresh.

Search results will show more content in a grid layout, and Facebook is testing a full-screen viewer for images and videos.

Creation tools are being reworked. Story and Feed composers now surface popular actions like adding music or tagging friends. More advanced options, including colorful text backgrounds, stay available but out of the way. Audience controls and cross-posting settings are now more prominent.

Comments across Feed, Groups and Reels are getting streamlined. Replies are cleaner. Badges and pinning tools are more visible. Admins and creators get expanded controls. Users can flag comments anonymously.

Profiles are getting a functional tweak. When people update interests, travel plans or media tastes, Facebook will highlight friends with similar interests or useful advice. Users can choose who sees each profile detail and whether updates appear in the Feed.

Facebook calls this a first wave. More updates arrive in 2026.

What it means

Meta is tightening Facebook’s core surfaces to keep the app usable as it continues to swell with video, commerce and AI-generated content. The redesign leans toward TikTok-style immersion while trying to preserve Facebook’s social graph. This is Meta defending relevance by stripping friction wherever it can.

The Recap

  • Facebook updates Feed, search, navigation and creation interfaces.
  • Multiple photos now appear in a standardized grid in Feed.
  • The company said more platform updates arrive in 2026.
