Facebook launches first Marketplace Holiday Shop
Facebook debuts a Marketplace Holiday Shop with creator-curated gift collections for seasonal shopping.
Facebook is trying to turn Marketplace browsing into holiday shopping with intent.
The company has launched its first Facebook Marketplace Holiday Shop, a curated hub meant to surface gift ideas across fashion, collectibles and electronics, according to a company statement.
The move leans into a surge of interest from young adults who have been poking around Marketplace categories in the run-up to the 2024 holiday season.
Facebook says the goal is to foreground “affordable items curated by real people,” rather than push a glossy, brand-driven storefront.
To build the experience, Facebook is tapping a feature it rolled out recently called collections, which lets users group Marketplace listings, invite friends and shop together.
The Holiday Shop applies that format to creator-led gift picks, including Alex’s Gametime Gifts, Holderness’ Family Finds, iJustine’s Tech Collection, FLIPPED FURNITURE FINDS!, Tay’s Funky Holiday Gifts and April’s Vintage Gems.
Accessing the shop is intentionally simple. Open the Marketplace tab in the Facebook app, tap the search icon, enter “Holiday Shop” and select the experience. If it does not appear, Facebook says the fix is to update the app to the latest version.
The company is pitching the rollout as part of a broader push to show “how we connect people this holiday season,” urging users to “discover something truly special on the Facebook Marketplace Holiday Shop.. where every gift tells a story and every connection goes a long way.”
