Facebook adds animated profile pictures
Meta AI features let users animate profile photos and restyle posts.
Facebook is rolling out Meta AI features that let users animate profile pictures and restyle Stories, Memories and Feed posts.
The company said in a statement users can convert a still profile photo into a short animation using presets such as natural, party hat, confetti, wave and heart.
Restyle will change the look of images in Stories and Memories using preset styles or a text-based AI prompt, the company said. It added that it will also recommend Memories with Restyle options in Stories.

When creating a text post in Feed, users can tap the rainbow A icon to select still or animated backgrounds, including falling leaves or ocean waves, and the company said it will introduce seasonal backgrounds in future updates.
The company said it will add more animation options throughout the year.
