Fabrique partners with Gensmo for AI styling
No more anxiety-inducing changing room quick changes
Fabrique, a digital fashion platform that curates and sells collections from independent designers, is set to roll out an artificial intelligence-powered styling feature developed with Gensmo, an AI company focused on visual search and generative styling, to help shoppers visualise complete outfits as online spending peaks during the Black Friday period.
Gensmo said the new experience analyses Fabrique’s full product catalogue and automatically generates photorealistic outfit recommendations, allowing customers to see how individual pieces can be worn together. The feature is designed to ground styling suggestions in the retailer’s existing wardrobe rather than presenting abstract or generic looks.
The companies said the added layer of styling inspiration is intended to encourage shoppers to add more items to their baskets, with multi-item recommendations expected to lift average order values. “As consumers browse at peak speed during Black Friday, great design deserves great storytelling,” said Ning Hu, founder and chief executive of Gensmo.
A spokesperson for Fabrique said the technology expands how products are presented by placing them in a full styling context, while also showcasing the shared identity of the platform’s community of designers. The company said it works with more than 350 designers globally, including Stéphane Rolland and Hussein Chalayan.
The release also noted that Gensmo has raised $70m in early-stage funding.
The enhanced styling experience is scheduled to go live during the Black Friday season. The companies said further developments are planned as they explore additional applications of artificial intelligence across creativity, curation and digital commerce.
