EmCoin and Crypto.com sign MoU to explore digital asset trading and tokenisation in the UAE
The agreement sets out plans to integrate Crypto.com’s liquidity and infrastructure with EmCoin’s platform, subject to regulatory approval, and to explore tokenisation of real-world assets.
Emirates Coin Investment LLC has signed a memorandum of understanding with Crypto.com to explore integrations that would allow users in the United Arab Emirates to access and trade digital assets.
In a joint statement, the companies said the proposed collaboration, subject to regulatory approvals, will examine the integration of Crypto.com’s global liquidity and trading infrastructure into EmCoin’s platform. The aim is to expand EmCoin’s customer experience, improve trade execution quality and provide access to a broader range of cryptocurrencies with tighter spreads.
Under the MoU, Crypto.com will also explore supporting the tokenisation of EmCoin’s real-world assets. This would use Crypto.com technologies and strategic partners, including the Cronos EVM chain, and would be carried out in line with applicable regulatory requirements, the companies said. Tokenisation refers to representing ownership of real-world assets, such as commodities or financial instruments, as digital tokens on a blockchain, enabling more efficient trading, settlement and programmability.
