Edgen has released a Personal AI Chief Investment Officer designed to operate autonomously, analysing markets 24 hours a day without requiring users to issue prompts.

The company said the system is built on a “Zero-Prompt” architecture and uses a coordinated network of 17 specialist agents to analyse equities and digital assets on behalf of its more than 481,000 registered users. Rather than responding to questions, the AI CIO runs continuously in the background, monitoring portfolios and market conditions.

Users can onboard by syncing a brokerage account, connecting a crypto wallet or entering holdings manually. Edgen said this allows the system to build a profile of assets and risk tolerance, after which it operates independently. Outputs include a Daily Portfolio Briefing and Smart Alerts that highlight relevant changes or risks.

“We believe the future of AI isn’t a chatbot you have to talk to; it’s an intelligence that works while you eat and sleep,” said Sean Tao, chief executive and co-founder of Edgen.

According to the company, the platform is powered by a proprietary multi-agent architecture made up of specialised personas grounded in a real-time financial knowledge graph. This structure is intended to support coverage across thousands of listed stocks and cryptocurrencies. At launch, core capabilities include Zero-Prompt Analysis, unified intelligence spanning traditional equities and Web3 assets, and an AI CIO interface that consolidates outputs from multiple agents into a single daily summary.

Edgen said it is developing what it calls “Level 2” agentic capabilities that would move the system from observation towards execution. Planned features include deeper scenario analysis, automated risk-hedging suggestions and defined execution pathways, though the company did not give a timeline for those additions.

The AI CIO is available via the Edgen platform, and the company said it is backed by investors including Framework Ventures and North Island Ventures.
