Ecco the Dolphin is set to make a comeback
A&R Atelier has put the classic game character back into development.
Nineties 16-bit platform classic Ecco the Dolphin is set for a comeback, a California-based game developer has announced.
A&R Atelier, described as a team of veteran developers, including some of the original creators, has put Ecco the Dolphin back into development.
The software company said Ecco was first released in 1992 and garnered critical and commercial acclaim at launch.
"It has been years in the making and we’re honored to bring Ecco back," A&R Chief Creative Officer Ed Annunziata said.

Annunziata added: "Ecco has always been more than a game about a dolphin - he’s a bridge between worlds."
The developer has now launched the official Ecco the Dolphin Discord server, and it invited gamers to join the community to receive exclusive updates, behind-the-scenes content, and early looks at what’s to come.
