Disney said Disneyland Handcrafted, a feature documentary directed by Leslie Iwerks, will begin streaming on Disney+ and Disney’s YouTube channel on January 22.

The company said the film draws on rare archival footage and original audio recordings to trace the development of Walt Disney’s original theme park, from its early conception through to opening day on July 17, 1955.

According to Disney, Iwerks and her team uncovered previously forgotten 16 millimetre film reels and audio material from the Walt Disney Archives during production.
