Deezer is finding and labelling AI music uploaded to its platform
Music streamer Deezer is on the front foot, handling AI-generated content with new processes.
Deezer has started a program of labelling tracks and albums that are 'wholly generated' by artificial intelligence.
The “AI-generated content” label will be clearly visible to users on the platform.
By proactively labelling AI content, Deezer aims to protect artists and rights holders from deceptive streaming practices while equipping listeners with the information needed to make informed choices.
This initiative comes as some 18% of music uploads to the platform (around 20,000 tracks a day) are now fully made with AI. At the same time, only 0.5% of plays on Deezer are of AI-generated music.
In other words, the platform is awash with non-human content.
Moreover, it is estimated that most (around 70%) of the AI-content streams are determined to be fraudulent.
So as part of the new efforts Deezer seeks to find and exclude this content.
