DeepClaw lets users create a personal AI phone agent with a single call
The experimental service from Deepgram Labs assigns each user a dedicated phone number, memory and tools after a brief onboarding conversation.
DeepClaw, a project from Deepgram Labs, now allows users to set up a personal AI phone agent simply by calling a number and answering a few questions.
The system assigns each user a dedicated phone number, persistent memory and a suite of tools, with the phone call itself serving as the complete onboarding process.
DeepClaw Hosted manages the underlying infrastructure and supplies API (application programming interface) keys, spinning up an isolated instance of OpenClaw, the company's open source voice agent framework, for each user.
Each instance is connected to Deepgram's Voice Agent API so the agent can be reached by both phone and text.
Features include full agent capabilities such as web search, code execution and tool use, as well as cross-channel memory that stores calls and texts in the same instance.
The service also supports proactive callbacks, enabling the agent to initiate contact for reminders.
On the speech side, Deepgram's Flux model handles speech-to-text with semantic turn detection, while Aura-2 provides text-to-speech with a time to first byte of 90 milliseconds.
