CrowdStrike, the US cybersecurity company, has expanded its partnership with Microsoft to allow customers to purchase its Falcon security platform through the Microsoft Azure Marketplace using pre-committed cloud spending funds.

The arrangement, announced on 18 February, means organisations can apply existing Microsoft Azure Consumption Commitment balances toward CrowdStrike software, consolidating procurement and billing within a single cloud purchasing workflow.

The Falcon platform provides AI-driven protection across endpoints, cloud workloads, identity, and data, and is now available immediately through Microsoft Marketplace with full Azure Consumption Commitment eligibility.

George Kurtz, chief executive and founder of CrowdStrike, said security teams should not have to wait for budget cycles while adversaries act without delay.

Judson Althoff, chief executive of Microsoft's commercial business, said security was the foundation for AI transformation.

The deal addresses a common friction point for large enterprises, which often accumulate significant pre-committed cloud spending that can only be deployed against approved Marketplace vendors.

By qualifying for Azure Consumption Commitment decrement, CrowdStrike purchases can now count toward meeting those contractual minimums, reducing the administrative overhead of managing separate procurement and billing processes for security software.

CrowdStrike has been rebuilding its commercial relationships following a significant global IT outage in July 2024 caused by a faulty software update, which disrupted airlines, banks, hospitals, and government agencies worldwide.

Expanding distribution through Microsoft Marketplace gives the company access to Azure's large enterprise customer base and signals a step toward tighter integration between the two firms, which had faced reputational strain following that incident.

The recap

  • CrowdStrike Falcon now purchasable on Microsoft Marketplace using Azure funds.
  • Announcement dated Feb. 18, 2026 from Austin, Texas and Redmond, Wash.
  • Available immediately with full Azure Consumption Commitment decrement eligibility.
