Contiem has been selected to join IBM’s delivery team on the UK Ministry of Defence’s new Defence Equipment Engineering Asset Management System, a multi-year programme aimed at modernising the country’s military asset management infrastructure.

IBM holds a £320 million contract to deliver the DEEAMS platform, which is designed to replace 17 fragmented and outdated applications with a single artificial intelligence-enabled system.

According to Contiem, the DEEAMS programme is expected to deliver over £1 billion in benefits through reduced support and IT costs.

The US-based documentation and content software provider said it will expand its UK workforce as part of the engagement and will supply several products, including its notusCSDB S1000D software and RSuite Component Content Management System.

“Modern defence operations depend on accurate technical information and interoperable data,” said Julian Murfitt, Senior Managing Director at Contiem.

The company said its software and services would support the Ministry of Defence’s goals around reliability, maintainability and sustainability across complex defence platforms.

Contiem added that it has experience supporting aerospace and military programmes in the UK, Europe and North America, and that its tools are designed to operate across global supply chains and multi-vendor defence ecosystems.
