- The worldwide rollout follow an initial limited release
- In Comet, users are massively more engaged with the AI
Perplexity has now launched the Comet browser worldwide.
It follows a limited release that began in July and saw "millions of users" join a wait list.
Now, users around the world can download and start using the browser for free, Perplexity has announced.
Perplexity said that users adopting the browser have significantly increased their engagement with the AI, citing a jump in the number of questions by 6 to 18 times within the first day of using the new app.
"Curiosity is in all of us," Perplexity said in its announcement. "Suddenly, asking new questions is easier, the delightful default mode of internet use.
“We learned: the internet is better on Comet."
Comet Assistant, which helps users with various tasks such as research and meetings, is a key feature built into the browser.
Meanwhile, Perplexity has also introduced Background Assistants, which work asynchronously within the browser to manage tasks in the background.
Right now, Comet is available on desktop but Perplexity confirmed it plans to release a mobile app, designed to enhance user experience on mobile devices.
