Cloudforce secures $10 million as Microsoft backs Series A
Cloudforce said it closed a $10 million Series A round led by Owl Ventures with participation from M12, Microsoft’s venture fund.
Cloudforce closed the $10 million funding to accelerate global expansion of its nebulaONE platform and broaden deployments in education, healthcare and the public sector.
The company, in an announcement, said nebulaONE now serves over 3 million users across 90 institutions, including the University of Oxford, UCLA, University of Maryland and London Business School, and that the proceeds will speed global rollouts and scale operations in healthcare after the firm won HIPAA certification earlier this year.
"We are building the infrastructure that will power the next decade of discovery, and at a cost no other platform can offer," Cloudforce founder and CEO Husein Sharaf said.
NebulaONE is built exclusively on Microsoft Azure, Cloudforce noted, and offers a bring-your-own-model interface that lets organisations deploy models from OpenAI, Anthropic, Meta and others inside private cloud tenants, addressing data sovereignty, FERPA, HIPAA and GDPR compliance, and cost control.
“At Cloudforce, we believe the latest and most capable AI models shouldn’t be a luxury reserved for the few who can afford hundreds a month in subscriptions, or are otherwise willing to trade away their private data for access," Husein Sharaf added.
"With the support of Owl Ventures and M12, Microsoft’s Venture fund, we are aggressively expanding our footprint to ensure that institutions—whether in London, Los Angeles, or Auckland—can rapidly deploy a private AI environment that empowers their people with equitable access to every AI model, without compromising their data."
With the Series A, the company plans to ramp hiring in 2026, launch vertical-specific AI agents for education and healthcare workflows, and expand into the broader public sector; the firm reported a 100% subscriber retention rate in 2025.
