More people are using design tools to mark romantic and platonic connections, that's according to Canva's data.

Valentine’s Day is widening beyond traditional romantic rituals as people broaden how they celebrate connections.

The online design company, in a blog post, said searches for "Valentine’s Day" and "Valentines" on Canva exceeded 412 million in 2025, a 31% increase compared with 2024.

Searches for "Galentine’s Day" and "Galentines" (the platonic pals day celebration between women) surpassed 8.6 million in 2025, with interest up 207% year over year, the company said.

Canva said millions used its platform to design cards, invitations and social posts to mark relationships including partners, friends, chosen family and colleagues.

So, this year, Canva is encouraging users to explore ideas for every kind of connection ahead of 14 February.
