Canva has introduced newly expanded AI capabilities and workflow improvements to its cloud-based design platform.

The new AI skills include image-to-video conversion, Style Match and broader AI video generation, Canva highlighted.

The design platform, in an announcement, said they are designed to help users create faster, stay consistent and move from idea to impact with less effort.

Image to Video converts still photos into 3-second videos without filming or editing. Style Match generates graphics that align with an existing design’s colors, layout and aesthetic.

Canva said deeper integrations with Claude and ChatGPT enable generation of designs that reflect a user’s voice, tone and visual identity.

Magic Insights, meanwhile, provides explanatory narratives alongside charts and formulas.

The company noted AI video generation is now available across more locales globally, allowing text prompts to produce videos, whilst 'edit as video' adds a video timeline so users can add motion, adjust timing and fine-tune animations.

A new split 'Present' button opens full-screen mode with one click while keeping other presenting options available. And, new Publish apps integrations include hooks into LinkedIn, Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Mailchimp and Simplebooklet.

The Recap

  • Canva added image-to-video and AI video generation capabilities.
  • Image to Video creates 3-second videos from still photos.
  • The company said users can get started today.
