Barclays to rollout Copilot AI across the bank

Barclays is expanding its use of artificial intelligence with the rollout of Microsoft 365 Copilot to 100,000 employees.
This will make it one of the largest users of the AI tool in the UK banking sector.
It follows a successful pilot phase and is designed to help employees streamline tasks, enhance productivity and improve customer service across both Barclays UK and Barclays International operations.
“Our adoption of Microsoft 365 Copilot is a key milestone in our digital transformation,” said Craig Bright, Barclays Group Chief Information Officer. “We are embedding AI into the core of how we work at Barclays.”
“Through this broad implementation, we’re giving our colleagues the opportunity to take full advantage of generative AI to improve the way they work and better serve our customers,” he added.
Barclays will also join Microsoft’s Early Access Programme to collaborate on future AI developments. The bank said the move is part of its wider digital strategy and long-term investment in generative AI.
