ASML commits €93 million to Eindhoven mobility
ASML is committing €93 million to the Beethoven mobility package to fund public infrastructure projects across the Brainport region around Eindhoven in the Netherlands.
The company said in a statement that this follows the 2024 signing of the Beethoven covenant, when the national government pledged a substantial investment package conditioned on regional contributions from municipalities and businesses.
The company said the €93 million will support the construction of bicycle paths, high-quality public transport facilities and the new underground bus station at Eindhoven Central Station. The release said the mobility contribution adds to other agreed investments that amount to more than €4.5 billion in total.
Joost van Hees, Head of Public-Private Partnerships at ASML, said: "In the end, it’s about a healthy region where all organisations, companies, and people have the opportunity to thrive." The release noted the Brainport Partner Fund will contribute €219 million over 12 years and that 50 companies had joined the fund within a year.
The company added that recruitment of companies to the Partner Fund is ongoing and that ASML will continue supporting regional social and talent initiatives, including the ASML Marathon Eindhoven and the ASML Junior Academy.
