Apple releases limited-edition Unity band for Black History Month
Apple has launched the Unity Connection Braided Solo Loop, a special-edition Apple Watch band designed to mark Black History Month. The band is available to order online and via the Apple Store app from today, and will be available in retail stores later this week, priced at US$99.
The company said the design was created by Black creatives and allies at Apple and features the colours of the Pan-African flag. It is made using recycled polyester yarn filaments wrapped around ultrathin silicone threads, using precision-braiding machinery.
Apple described the material as soft and textured, with sweat and water resistance. The pattern includes multiple shades of red, green and black visible on close inspection.

The band is compatible with Apple Watch Series 4 or later, Apple Watch SE, and all Apple Watch Ultra models. It is offered in sizes for 42mm and 46mm cases, with band sizes ranging from 0 to 12.
In a statement, Apple said it is supporting the release by providing grants to organisations focused on creativity and community access, including Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Urban Arts in New York City, Youth Music in London, Art Gallery of New South Wales in Sydney, and Enactus México in Mexico City.
