Apple has introduced iPhone 17e, a lower-priced member of the iPhone 17 family that includes the A19 chip, the Apple-designed C1X cellular modem, a 48MP Fusion 2‑in‑1 camera, a 6.1‑inch Super Retina XDR display and 256GB starting storage.
The model joins the iPhone 17 lineup and is positioned to deliver improved performance, camera capabilities and durability at a lower price point, the company said in a new product announcement.
Apple says iPhone 17e uses the A19 chip, built on advanced 3‑nanometer technology with a 6‑core CPU, a 4‑core GPU and a 16‑core Neural Engine optimized for large generative models to power Apple Intelligence.
The C1X modem is described as up to 2x faster than C1 in iPhone 16e, matching iPhone Air speeds while using 30 percent less energy than the modem in iPhone 16 Pro.
“iPhone 17e combines powerful performance and features our users love at an exceptional value, making it a compelling option for customers looking to upgrade to the iPhone 17 family,” said Kaiann Drance, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide iPhone Product Marketing.
The camera system uses a 48MP Fusion sensor that supports a 2x optical‑quality Telephoto and 4K Dolby Vision video at up to 60 fps, plus Spatial Audio recording and wind noise reduction.
