Apple is expanding its Apple Fitness+ subscription service into 28 new markets.

The new territories will include countries such as Chile, Hong Kong, India, the Netherlands, Singapore and Taiwan, Apple said in an announcement, and it added that a roll-out into the Japanese market will follow early next year.

The move marks the service’s largest geographic expansion since the launch of Apple Fitness+, and adds new language and music options aimed at users in more regions, the iPhone maker highlighted.

Apple noted that as part of the rollout, hundreds of workouts and meditations will be digitally dubbed using AI-generated voices in Spanish and German, with Japanese dubbing to arrive alongside the Japan launch.

“Through its seamless integration across Apple devices, Fitness+ has helped inspire users to live a healthier day,” Jay Blahnik, Apple’s vice president of Fitness Technologies, said, adding that the company is “bringing this experience to even more users around the globe with our biggest expansion yet.”

With the new markets, Fitness+ will be available in 49 countries and regions, offering 12 workout types such as Strength, Yoga, HIIT, Pilates, Dance, Cycling, Kickboxing and Meditation in sessions lasting from 5 to 45 minutes on iPhone, iPad and Apple TV.

Users can pair Apple Watch or AirPods Pro 3 to see metrics like heart rate, calories burned, Activity rings progress and the Burn Bar onscreen, and can use Custom Plans, Stay Consistent, Push Further and Get Started features to structure their training.

Apple is also adding a K-Pop music genre across all workout types and continues to offer Artist Spotlight playlists, Time to Walk audio episodes and curated Collections, it said.

Fitness+ costs $9.99 per month or $79.99 per year in the US, and supports Family Sharing for up to five additional users. A promotion offers three months free with eligible new Apple devices.

The recap

  • Apple Fitness+ expands to 28 new markets from December 15.
  • Service adds digital dubbing in Spanish, German and later Japanese.
