AMD has introduced the Ryzen AI Embedded P100 and X100 Series processors, which it says combine Zen 5 CPU cores, an RDNA 3.5 GPU and an XDNA 2 NPU on a single chip for edge AI workloads.

According to AMD, the portfolio targets automotive digital cockpits, industrial automation and physical AI for autonomous systems, and is offered in a compact 25×40 mm BGA package for constrained embedded systems.

Launching now, the P100 Series features 4–6 CPU cores, an estimated 35% faster GPU rendering and up to 50 TOPS of NPU performance, the company said.

“As industries push for more immersive AI experiences and faster on-device intelligence, they need high performance without added system complexity,” said Salil Raje, senior vice president and general manager, AMD Embedded.

The P100 processors support up to four 4K or two 8K displays at 120 frames per second, a 15–54 watt operating range, and extended operating temperatures down to –40°C for select parts.

AMD highlighted that the chips ship with a unified software stack built on an open-source Xen hypervisor and support Yocto, Ubuntu, FreeRTOS, Android and Windows, and that the platform is ASIL-B capable.
