Amazon Pharmacy to sell Wegovy pill for as little as $25 a month
Amazon Pharmacy will sell Novo Nordisk’s Wegovy pill in the United States, through many insurance plans and a cash-pay option.
Amazon Pharmacy has announced it is offering Novo Nordisk’s Wegovy pill to customers through participating insurance plans and a transparent cash-pay route.
The e-commerce giant said that eligible customers with commercial insurance may pay as little as $25 for a one-month supply, while customers without insurance can access the Wegovy pill through a cash-pay option starting at $149 per month.
“Amazon Pharmacy is focused on making it easier for customers to access the latest innovations in weight loss care,” said Tanvi Patel, Vice President and General Manager of Amazon Pharmacy.
The firm added that customers can compare insurance and cash-pay prices side by side, with eligible coupons automatically applied at checkout.
Amazon Pharmacy offers home delivery to all 50 states, and Same-Day Delivery is available to nearly half of customers across the United States.
Customers are asked to have their healthcare provider send prescriptions directly to Amazon Pharmacy for delivery.
It added that Amazon One Medical will provide clinical evaluation, treatment recommendations, and ongoing care management for weight-related health concerns, and that it collaborates with providers and digital health companies including WeightWatchers, Wheel, and 9amHealth.
In the coming weeks, the Wegovy pill will also be available through Amazon Pharmacy Kiosks, it noted.
