Amazon-backed Anthropic launches Claude AI app for iPhones

Anthropic, the Amazon-backed large-language model AI company, has now launched its Claude mobile app for iOS, making its challenger to ChatGPT available to iPhone users.
It is seen as a significant step in making its the Claude AI chat application more accessible.
Claude includes chatbot functionality, which functions similarly to ChatGPT, as well as image analysis - these services were previously available only through the Anthropic website and third-party technologies.
For business customers, the new app supports a team subscription plan.
Anthropic has highlighted that the new app and subscription model aims to enable both personal and professional use of Claude AI.
It comes as Anthropic is positioning Claude as a viable competitor to ChatGPT, as well as rival technologies such as Google's Gemini, Meta's Llama and Elon Musk's Grok AI.

Media outlets generally focus positively on Anthropic’s technological advancements, which could potentially underplay the competitive challenges in the marketplace.
Indeed, technological optimism is a theme across much of the initial, tech-focused media coverage, which some readers may find do not fully account for current technological limitations and ethical concerns surrounding AI.
